Step One Automotive Group presents Christina Stephens with their Local Hero Award in support of World Suicide Prevention Awareness Day. The award will be presented during their monthly Grab-n-Go Meal event for first responders on Friday, September 10th from 11am to 2:00pm at Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Fiat’s location at 8701 Abercorn Savannah GA.

“Step One Auto is proud to present our Local Hero Award to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention local representative Christina Stephens. Losing her 14 year old daughter to suicide is unbearable to comprehend but Christina has taken this tragedy and now fights daily to bring awareness of suicide prevention,” states Step One Automotive Group Marketing Manager Maja Ciric. “Being able to recognize and award Christina with a $500 gift card, a JEEP Gladiator for the weekend and complimentary dinner while feeding our local first responders is an honor.”

“After losing my younger brother to suicide in 2013, I reached out to AFSP and changed my annual car show into The Tybee ICE Out of the Darkness Hotrod and Classic Car Show. The money we raise from this annual event goes directly to Christy and the AFSP,” shares car show founder Steve Kanner of Commando Customs. “Christina is an absolute ray of sunshine shining down on a very dark subject that is often swept under the rug and not discussed - we need more people like her in the world.”

The Award presentation is at 12pm, noon with American Legion Post 184 veterans retiring the flag and a minute of silence will be held for suicide victims.
