Staff Report

Tuesday, December 20th, 2022

Students at ten Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools received brand new bikes as an early Christmas gift, thanks to the generosity of business partner Gateway Terminals.  The bikes were delivered the week before students were dismissed for the two-week holiday break. Administration at each school site was tasked with identifying the families with the highest need.

Gateway Terminal President Kevin Price and Director of Finance Derek Grimes joined Shuman Elementary Principal Evanita Wallace-Lewis and Interim Deputy Superintendent of Teaching & Learning Bernadette Ball-Oliver to share in the excitement of the Shuman Elementary School students as they received a new bike and a new helmet! The other schools are The Early Learning Center at Formey, Brock Elementary, Butler Elementary, Gould Elementary, Shuman Elementary, and Windsor Forest Elementary schools.  Also included are Isle of Hope K8, Rice Creek K8, DeRenne and Myers Middle Schools.  Each site received 10 bicycles with helmets to accommodate various ages.

SCCPSS is grateful for the generous donations of resources, funds, and services which help enrich the lives of our students and their families.
