Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity announces a Home Dedication ceremony to take place this Wednesday, March 1st. Join the team as homeowners of three new properties are presented their keys and celebrate with a ribbon cutting and remarks. The event marks the beginning of Women’s Build month and will take place at 142 Darling Street in the Woodville/ Barton neighborhood of Savannah at 10am.

A Habitat Home Dedication takes place at the conclusion of a new build and marks the day homeowners have closed on their mortgage and are given keys to officially move in. The hard work and commitment it takes to get to this point is no small feat. In order to qualify for a Habitat home and mortgage, applicants must prove they meet Habitat’s “Need” criteria and demonstrate that they can afford a zero interest, low monthly mortgage payment. They then agree to partner with Habitat to invest a significant amount of sweat equity hours into the construction of their home, complete monthly homeownership education classes, a nine-week Financial Peace University course, and save up to $3,500 for closing costs.

The local Homeowner Services Administrator, Olaitan Adesanya, had this to say, “It is an unbelievable pleasure of mine to have been part of the homebuying process for these three phenomenal families. The empowering nature of our organization really shines in these moments when we get to see the tangible impact that is made on families; there is now the physical stability of a home as well as a community for them to be a part of.”

Habitat invites anyone interested to attend and share in the joy as three families are recognized for this great accomplishment. Remarks will be made by the Mayor and tours will be provided following the ceremony.
