The Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club (FCBGC) will host their 106th Annual Golf Outing at the Wilmington Island Savannah Country Club on Friday, May 22, 2023. With business and community leaders along with supporting local organizations in attendance, this year's event will commemorate the club's 106th year of service in providing enriching opportunities for the young people in the city of Savannah.

The FCBGC Golf Outing is an annual fundraiser that helps the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club support its mission to enable all young people - especially those who need us most - to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible community leaders. FCBGC is a youth-serving organization that provides over 350 Savannah kids per day the opportunity for after-school programs which sets them up for a great future. We do this by offering safe places, caring mentors, and life-enhancing programs focused on academics, sports, arts, health, and leadership.

Sponsors who actively champion the cause: "to positively impact the lives of young people," support this annual golf outing in major ways. In fact, the Savannah Country Club alone has been an ongoing supporter of the event since 2018. Through the years, they have been a constant for this major fundraiser, keeping both our mission and the love of golf alive.

“The Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club Annual Golf Outing is one of our anticipated charity events. It's a time for community leaders to spend a day on the course for a good cause.

It will be inspiring and energizing to get back out there," said O.C. Welch, Savannah Country Club owner and club supporter.

“For the past 106 years, we at the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club have been providing hope and opportunity to thousands of Savannah children. On July 17, 2023, we will celebrate 101 years as a chartered member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. That makes us the oldest club in Georgia,” said John Brooks, FCBGC Chairman of the Board. “Our focus has been on enabling all youth to reach their full potential, and our outcome measures verify our impact: 90% of our members are on grade level in school, 98%of our members graduate high school on time with 90% of those going on to some post-secondary educational training, most to college. Our club kids are far less likely to be involved with the criminal justice system. Unfortunately, we are not reaching enough kids, but we have plans to triple our current 300 average members per day to over 1,000.”

“I am thrilled to be leading the efforts of the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club here in Savannah and excited to be serving for the second time in this fundraising capacity that I’m partaking here for the club. O.C. Welch and his incredible staff at the Savannah country club have been big supporters of the club and we appreciate all the efforts along with the volunteers and Board of Director members that help with this event each year,” said Mark Lindsay, newly announced CEO of the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club.
