Thomas & Hutton (T&H) is pleased to announce its newest Professional Engineer (PE) in South Carolina. Lydia Abernathy passed the Principles and Practices of Engineering Civil exam with the Geotechnical depth examination and satisfied the experience requirements needed to become a PE.

Lydia is a Civil Designer and joined Thomas & Hutton in 2020. She holds her Master’s and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Auburn University. As a Designer, Lydia is responsible for preparing site development construction drawings; engineering design considerations for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure; preliminary cost estimates; and permit applications for residential and land development projects in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Lydia has an impressive resume that highlights various projects accomplished in Coastal Georgia and the South Carolina Lowcountry. These include the Sun City Hilton Head East Argent, which consists of 1,540 homes in Hardeeville, SC; Midpoint, a Pulte development with 498 single-family homes in Bluffton, SC; as well as the enhancement of streetscape and roadway on Boundary Street in the Town of Bluffton.
