City to Host Ribbon Cutting for Renovated Forsyth Park Basketball Courts

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, April 5th, 2024

The City of Savannah's Recreation and Leisure Services will celebrate the renovation of Forsyth Park's basketball courts with a ribbon cutting on April 12 at 2 p.m.

The nearly $190,000 project completely refaced a decades old basketball court with new infrastructure, including backboards, rims, fencing, and a new playing surface.

The reconstruction of one of Savannah's most popular basketball courts was made possible by the City's Recreation Re-Imagined initiative.

Recreation Re-Imagined, launched by the City in 2022, is a continuous improvement initiative focused on re-thinking how recreation is delivered in Savannah. The aim is to enrich the lives of residents and guests by providing high-quality recreation experiences.
