Savannah Classical Academy’s (SCA) Elementary and Middle schools have been ranked as ‘Best’ in the state of Georgia by the independent 2024’s US NEWS and World Report.  Savannah Classical Academy Charter School is ranked #290 in Georgia Elementary Schools and #204 in Georgia Middle Schools. Savannah Classical Academy's high ranking earned the K-12 charter school eligibility to display the U.S. News Best Elementary School and Best Middle School award badges.  Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation, and how well they prepare their students for high school.

This state wide assessment also ranked SCA as #2 in the district’s elementary schools and #3 in the district’s middle schools. Compared to other charter schools across the state of Georgia, SCA’s Elementary School achieved a ranking #11 and its Middle School #14.  Badge eligibility recognizes educational excellence and all data for the rankings was sourced from third-party sources, including the U.S. Department of Education. U.S. News published numerical rankings for more than 37,000 public elementary schools and more than 18,000 public middle schools. For each state, schools were assessed on their pupils’ proficiencies in mathematics and reading, as measured by state assessment tests. Half of the ranking formula was the results themselves; the other half was the results in the context of socioeconomic demographics meaning that the top-ranked schools are high achieving ones that succeeded in educating all of their students.

These successes for both our elementary and middle schools confirms that the commitment of our teachers, students and families results in excellent academic outcomes.”  

SCA is a K-12 school which is open to all students residing in Chatham County, is funded by the public education system but retains a charter that allows it to operate autonomously under a board of parents and community members. It is the philosophy of Savannah Classical Academy that all students benefit from a rigorous, content-rich, educational program that develops academic potential and personal character. The school provides an environment that fosters academic excellence through the habits of thoroughness, the willingness to work, and the perseverance to complete difficult tasks. Through a defined traditional, Classical-Liberal curriculum, students are prepared to become active, responsible members of their community.   The school is open to all students living in Chatham County via a lottery. Families are encouraged to join the wait list for the 2024-25 school year.
