BankSouth Mortgage, the fourth-largest purchase mortgage and third-largest new construction mortgage provider in Georgia, held a special open house and ribbon cutting event at their new mortgage office located at 200 Stephenson Ave. on Thursday, February 18th. Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce members, local business owners, community influencers, and friends, family and clients of BankSouth & BankSouth Mortgage all came out to celebrate this important community event.

Former Columbus Chamber President Mike Gaymon Pens Book "A View from the Backhoe"

It has been more than a year since Mike Gaymon retired from the Greater Columbus, GA Chamber of Commerce where he was known as a bold and effective leader that helped transform the Columbus community. Gaymon traded in the boardrooms and business meetings for a backhoe and a quieter life in the country where he has spent time reflecting on his decades-long career as a Chamber executive. It was this new view from atop a backhoe that inspired his book, aptly tilted, A View from the Backhoe.

STC Foundation to celebrate 2016 Tribute to Community STARs

The Savannah Technical College Foundation Community Council will host the 2016 Tribute to Community STARs at noon on Friday, April 1st,, in the Eckburg Auditorium on the College’s Savannah Campus, 5717 White Bluff Road. The event, now in its tenth year, honors some 30 individuals, nominated for their service and dedication at work or in the community.

Choate Construction Donates SMART Board to Sound Start, Children’s School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing

Savannah Speech and Hearing Center, a nonprofit organization serving the speech pathology and audiology needs of the Coastal Empire, was pleased to accept a SMART Board from Choate Construction. The new SMART Board was recently installed in the Sound Start classroom, an auditory and oral school for the deaf and hard-of-hearing serving children ages two to six years old.

Southwest Georgia Shines During 28th Annual Georgia Quail Hunt

Albany and Southwest Georgia welcomed a record number of guests this week to the 28th Annual Georgia Quail Hunt. Nearly 30 site location consultants as well as recruitment and expansion prospects arrived in Southwest Georgia this week to learn about doing business in Georgia while enjoying the traditional quail hunting experience.
