Georgia CEO sat down with Lori Hampton to learn about her new role serving as Agency Manager for Savannah’s Sapelo Creative Insurance Solutions, LLC, part of the Sullivan Group HR.  During our one-on-one, Hampton shares insights into her background in commercial insurance, her excitement about stepping into her new position and how she and this Savannah-based firm are focused on developing quality carrier relationships to better serve businesses throughout the Southeast, including the booming entertainment industry.

Lori Hampton has served as Agency Manager for Sapelo Creative Insurance Solutions, LLC, since December 2017.  She has an extensive background in commercial insurance having served as Senior Account Manager for USI Insurance Services (formerly Willis Insurance Services) for 11 years before stepping into her current role. Hampton is a graduate of Armstrong State University.  

Hampton shared, “I started with Sapelo in December 2017. Prior to joining Sapelo, I worked for USI Insurance Services, a national insurance broker, for the past 11 years.  I served as Senior Account Manager focusing on all aspects of commercial insurance.  When this opportunity presented itself, I knew I could not pass it up. It’s such a unique setup on the HR side and a great opportunity that gave me room to grow professionally.”

“A lot of people in the area know the Sullivan Group name. Many locals also know my predecessor, Elke Quinn.  Elke just retired in January and that created the opportunity for me to come in and work with her for a few weeks before officially stepping into her shoes.” 

“We have a small group of individuals here with a quality not quantity business model. I really try to focus on developing both client and carrier relationships. We are primarily focused on businesses within Southeast Georgia and our surrounding states and communities as well. We do have a lot of focus in Savannah, but we reach out from there even recently extending down into parts of Florida.” 

Hampton offered, “Our focus is on our clients, providing the best possible service possible, regardless of business size. We are always looking at our clients’ needs from an insurance perspective and offering services they might not know they need.  We also have a limited number of very strong relationships with our carriers. Those relationships are invaluable. We really focus on developing those carrier relationships to make sure we can offer our clients the best of what they need at the best price.” 

“In the few weeks I’ve been here, I’ve noticed we have a really sweet spot for restaurants. We also have a good mix of retail, service, and contractors. We work with a wide range of business types and are not limited to any specific size or type. Most recently, we have really been focused on the film industry and serving the entertainment sector.  Chris Helton leads that charge for us.  The film industry really booming here in Savannah and we are excited to be providing coverages and service to support that growth.” 

“This year we are already on track to be in a growth mode. My focus is to further develop our carrier relationships, partner with some additional carriers and grow our current book of business. We are also looking to expand our team on both the sales and service side.”
