April 2, 2018 marked the formal 60th anniversary of Hussey Gay Bell, one of the region’s largest privately held companies. Since its founding in 1958 by WWII veterans, Benjamin E. Gay, PE and Roy Hussey, PE, the firm has experienced substantial growth over the last six decades with the addition of Gus H. Bell, III, PE in 1966 and now under the leadership of CEO and Chairman, G. Holmes Bell, IV, PE.

To commemorate this milestone, Hussey Gay Bell enlisted the help of Bluffton, South Carolina-based group46 to design a new website that better reflects the firm’s classical, yet innovative brand. “Our goal was to push the design to a new level, modernizing the way the work is displayed, maximizing the user experience, while maintaining the tradition of the industry,” said Ryan Lockhart, President of group46. “Working with Hussey Gay Bell to modernize their website was a pleasure, with their organization and our account management skills we were able to accomplish a revolutionary design to display the intricate details of their engineering and architectural solutions,” said web designer, Hilary Jones.

Hussey Gay Bell has grown considerably from its origins as a one-phone office in Savannah to an ENR Top 500 Design Firm with over 125 professionals in six offices throughout Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. Today, Hussey Gay Bell caters to seven core markets – commercial and residential, education, government, healthcare, industrial, transportation and water – by offering a fully integrated range of engineering disciplines including civil, water/wastewater, transportation, natural gas, environmental and structural in addition to architecture, interiors, landscape architecture and surveying.
