The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is always seeking innovative ways to build a better future for Savannah, and for the entire state of Georgia. GDOT Board Chair, Ann Purcell, will travel to Savannah to discuss those improvements and provide a retrospective on infrastructure during Georgia Tech-Savannah’s “Learners and Leaders” breakfast series on Thursday, September 12th.
Purcell will discuss the Major Mobility Investment Program (MMIP), the I-16 @ I-95 Improvement Project, projects and legislation directly related to improving our transportation infrastructure, and other ways GDOT is seeking to enhance mobility and safety. You will learn how they are working to fuel economic growth and how work done in the Savannah area has made a positive impact across the state.
“As the Coastal Empire continues to grow, infrastructure is a crucial factor in making the growth successful,” said Diane Lee, executive director of Georgia Tech-Savannah. “We’re excited to bring Ann Purcell in to discuss the tools and programs that are in place in our region, which help benefit our critical transportation needs.”
The discussion, which will include remarks followed by questions from the audience, will take place on the Georgia Tech-Savannah campus at 210 Technology Circle. Breakfast and networking will begin at 7:30 a.m.; the program will run 8-9:30 a.m. Cost, including breakfast, is $15.
Georgia Tech-Savannah’s Learners and Leaders series is an effort launched in 2014 to help companies in the coastal region stay current. To date, members of the coastal community have heard speakers on topics of relevance to the business community, including technology, innovation, sustainability challenges and solutions for port regions, safety management and its impact to your bottom line, and to how to groom your company’s next leadership team.
