Mansion on Forsyth Park’s 700 Kitchen Cooking School to Offer Themed Holiday Classes

The Mansion on Forsyth Park’s 700 Kitchen Cooking School – an intimate, elegant culinary experience located at 700 Drayton St. in Savannah, Ga. – will offer locals and visitors a new way to celebrate springtime in Savannah with themed classes in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Easter and Mother’s Day, in addition to a wide range of ongoing cooking classes.
Led by master-inspired culinary artist Jason Winn, these interactive, Tripadvisor 2020 Travelers’ Choice award-winning cooking classes invite guests to learn new skills, gain confidence in the kitchen and celebrate the holidays in a fun, creative way with seasonal menus.
“Our cooking classes are about so much more than just learning culinary techniques and following recipes,” said 700 Kitchen Cooking School Chef Jason Winn. “They are about bringing people together, making memories and experiencing new flavors. We’re excited to welcome guests into our state-of-the-art kitchen for our new spring classes.”
Classes at the 700 Kitchen Cooking School are all-inclusive, providing guests with the necessary ingredients, equipment and guidance to prepare and enjoy delicious dishes paired with house wines, mimosas and other beverages.

Irish Small Plates –– March 15-17 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.; March 17 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by exploring Irish flavors and culinary concepts, incorporating traditional and nontraditional ingredients. Guests will be guided through the preparation of five inspired small plates and enjoy their delicious gourmet creations with beer pairings available upon request. Class menu items include Potato Boxty with House Smoked Salmon and Roasted Tomato Salad; Ham Hock Colcannon with Poached Egg, Celeriac and Swiss Chard; Yellow Beet ‘Coddle’ with Pork Chop and Soda Bread; Cider Steamed Mussels with Bacon and Parsley; and Corned Beef Brisket Shepherd’s Pie.

Elegant Easter Brunch –– April 4 from 9 a.m. - noon; 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
This Easter, trade Easter eggs for Savannah-style Eggs Benedict and a Deviled Egg Trio. This interactive cooking class invites guests to enjoy classic Easter dishes, discover new holiday favorites and indulge in spring-inspired desserts. Mimosas will be served at the beginning of class in addition to coffee, juice, fresh fruit and danishes. Menu items include Eggs Benedict, ‘Savannah’ Country Ham, Collard Greens, Roasted Tomato Hollandaise; She Crab Soup; Raspberry Cream Cheese Filled French Toast; Deviled Egg Trio; and Roasted Rack of Lamb with Herbed Yogurt Sauce. Also enjoy desserts including Coconut Cream Pie, Key Lime Pie and Buttermilk Blueberry Pie. -
Mother’s Day Brunch –– May 9 from 9 a.m. - noon; 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
For Mother’s Day, treat your Mom to a delightful brunch and day of bonding. The perfect Mother’s Day gift and the ideal opportunity for multi-generational cooking, this interactive class features a superb collection of brunch classics plus Peach Bellinis, mimosas, coffee, juice, fruit, salad, danishes and seasonal desserts including Ricotta Cheesecake, Lemon Chess Pie and Blueberry Buttermilk Pie. Featured Mother’s Day menu items include Mediterranean Frittata, Shrimp Bisque, Roasted Tenderloin with Horseradish Sauce and Croque Monsieur.
In addition to these new holiday offerings, the 700 Kitchen Cooking School regularly hosts a wide variety of ongoing classes year-round. Highlights include Date Night classes, Ladies Night classes and the popular Farmer’s Market Tour, where guests select locally grown produce at the Forsyth Park Farmers' Market and cook a farm-to-table brunch.
Inspired by world travel, A Night in Tuscany, An Introduction to India, Classic Italian, La Cocina Mexicana and International Street Food classes encourage guests to experience international cuisine, while Southern-style cooking takes center stage in The Southern Table, Savannah Champagne Brunch and Low Country Staples classes.
While crafting and eating delectable creations in entertaining, hands-on classes, each person lends a helping hand in preparing for the meal, from peeling shrimp and cooking grits to making praline sauce and homemade biscuits.
