Tuesday, March 29th, 2022
Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club (FCBGC) announced today that the Board of Directors has named Mark Lindsay as the next Chief Executive Officer effective April 4th. FCBGC conducted its search process with the assistance of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s CEO Search Team.
Mark brings extensive experience and leadership skills in both business and community service to the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club in Savannah. An original Club Kid born and raised in High Point, NC, he fondly remembers attending the Boys & Girls Club summer camps and playing football and basketball on club teams. “The mentors that truly helped me growing up were the coaches and volunteers I encountered as a Club Kid... that’s where I learned to dream big”.
After graduating from Western Carolina University with a degree in Film, Radio, and Television, Mark followed his dream to Los Angeles and began a successful 35-year career in the entertainment industry. He held senior executive positions at major and independent studios in both Los Angeles and New York, specializing in financing, marketing, and distribution. Mark has been a producing instructor and mentor to aspiring filmmakers and is a frequent lecturer on the business aspects of the entertainment industry at universities across the country. “I think it’s important students be given a real-world view of what opportunities there are for them in the industry. I remind them that your first job will not be your last so be open-minded and try different things.”
Since moving to Savannah, Mark has devoted much of his free time to volunteering for nonprofit organizations such as the United Way of the Coastal Empire, The Salvation Army of Savannah, Scottish Rite of Savannah, and Alee Shriners. He has served as a guest panelist and speaker for numerous nonprofit community-based organizations including HonorBound Foundation for Veterans Assistance, Savannah Film Academy, and the Georgia Department of Education. He presently serves on the Executive Committee of the Greenwich International Film Festival and is the former Chairman of the Child Identification Program for the State of Connecticut Freemasons.
When he’s not working, Mark enjoys playing golf, boating, fishing, and taking walks throughout the parks and squares of Savannah with his wife Donna and dog Ranger. As CEO, Mark’s responsibilities include leading the organization’s strategic direction, oversight of organizational operations, financials, programming, brand reputation, talent recruitment, resource development, and stakeholder relationships. The CEO also serves as the organization’s primary ambassador and lead communicator. Mark, in partnership with his team, will oversee the organization’s Club. The CEO reports to FCBGC Board Chair, John Brooks.
