The Chatham County Tax Commissioner’s Office is pleased to report that 10,261 vehicle tags have been renewed at tag renewal kiosks in Chatham County in the first nine months since the kiosks were installed at three local Kroger stores.

The self-serve kiosks are already proving popular, with Chatham County taxpayers using them to renew annual auto tags and vehicle registrations since they were first introduced in November 2021. The automated kiosks are part of the Chatham County Tax Commissioner’s ongoing effort to modernize and streamline services to create a more user-friendly experience for local residents. There is a nominal fee of $3.95, regardless of how many vehicles are registered.

“The auto tag kiosks are very fast, incredibly convenient and there’s never a line,” said Chatham County Tax Commissioner Sonya L. Jackson. “It only takes two minutes to renew your auto tag, plus the kiosks are available nights and weekends, after traditional business hours, to meet the needs of our citizens.”
