Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club Offers Free Admission to United States Armed Forces, Veterans & First Responders

Tournament officials announced today that the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club will offer complimentary admission to all United States Armed Forces (Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, and Retirees), Veterans, and First Responders attending the sixth annual Korn Ferry Tour event. 

The 2023 Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club is March 20-26, in Savannah, GA, at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club’s acclaimed Deer Creek Course.

The tournament’s special Military and First Responder ticket is available Thursday – Sunday, March 23-26, and extends to family members and dependents of all approved Active Duty, National Guard, Military Reserve Service Members, Military Retirees, Military Veterans and First Responders.

Please note that a valid Military/First Responder ID must be provided along with the official tournament Military and First Responder ticket. Fans 17 and under receive free general admission with a ticketed adult.

Furthermore, the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club will offer a full complement of activities honoring the Nation’s military.

Starting on Wednesday, March 22, during the tournament’s Skyway Capital Markets Pro-Am, members of the military will enjoy a day inside the ropes serving as honorary caddies. Wednesday also includes the Opening Ceremony at 12 p.m. on Hole No. 10 tee and features U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Kurtis Lucas hitting the ceremonial first shot of the tournament. The Hero Hut opens on Thursday. This venue is now located off Hole No. 14 green and is open to all ticketed military and their families from Thursday, March 23 to Sunday, March 26. The Hero Hut includes complimentary food thanks to Publix, and beverages. Friday’s Executive Women’s Day presented by Hancock Askew & Co. and Bank of America will include tank commander U.S. Army First Lieutenant Mara Tazartus as a member of the esteemed panel. Then on Saturday, Military Appreciation Day takes center stage, offering a full day of pageantry honoring our Nation’s heroes. Fans will be treated to an array of military equipment throughout the tournament property, including tanks, jeeps, aircraft, and more. Galleries around the 18th green will witness military personnel tending the flag, as well as a special military representative announcing the Korn Ferry Tour field of players as they approach the green. Saturday’s special day of celebration will conclude with a military paratrooper descending onto the driving range displaying an American Flag, followed by a closing ceremony and the inaugural Club Car Concert on the Range Powered by Trojan Battery Company, featuring national touring sensation Yacht Rock Revue.

In 2023 the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club has expanded its relationship with the military through its recycling program. All drinks sold on the tournament grounds will be served in either an aluminum can or aluminum cup. All aluminum waste will be donated to the Recycling Center at Hunter Army Airfield.

Additionally, the tournament donates 30 “Baby Shower in a box” gifts to the B is for Baby program at Operation Shower. The boxes consist of items for both baby and mom and are provided to new military moms-to-be in need. 

The Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club also announced today the return of the tournament’s Kid Correspondent Program, in partnership with the 100 Black Men of Savannah. The 2023 official correspondents of the Championship, Jeremiah Berksteiner and Quentin Brooks, will experience a full week of activities, including the Opening Ceremony, access to post-round Korn Ferry Tour player interviews, a shadowing experience with tournament officials, and more. 

Jeremiah is a ninth grader at Islands High School and a Savannah native. He enjoys many activities, including football, golf, science and playing the saxophone. Jeremiah discovered his love for golf when he participated in the 100 Black Men of Savannah’s Youth Golf cohort in 2020, where he further developed and cultivated his golfing skills and technique. He has been hooked ever since.

Quentin is a 10th grade honor student at Bethesda Academy. He became interested in golf at age nine and began learning the game with First Tee-Savannah. Quentin qualified for the SCISA State Golf Tournament as a freshman and would like to play golf at the collegiate level. In addition to golf, Quentin enjoys basketball, spending time with family and friends and serving his community. 

The 100 Black Men of Savannah serve as a beacon of leadership by utilizing their diverse talents to create an environment in which Savannah youth are motivated to achieve and are empowered to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of their communities.
