NAWIC’s Coastal Georgia Chapter to Host Annual Gala to Announce Awards and Induct New Board
Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023
The National Association of Women in Construction’s (NAWIC) Coastal Georgia chapter will host its Annual Gala at The Alida Hotel on September 26 at 11:30 a.m. to bestow awards for excellent service to select members and induct new board members for 2023-2024.
“As we look forward to new beginnings and the new NAWIC year, which begins in October, our current chapter board is looking forward to celebrating those who have energetically served our mission to support women in the construction industry through professional development, business opportunity, community outreach, and mentoring programs,” said Erin Clay, President of NAWIC Coastal Georgia. “Even more exciting is watching new leadership arise from the membership ranks and get sworn in as part of the 2023-2024 NAWIC Coastal Georgia board. And what better way to celebrate all of these accomplishments than to hear from one of our veteran members, Tonya Reed. We hope to see you there!"
Guest speaker, Tonya Reed, third-generation owner of Henry Plumbing and longtime member of NAWIC, will share with the group her “Crown Board” concept, a space in her office where she hangs encouraging and empowering memorabilia and ephemera. The gala will also feature a “Bling Your Safety Vest” activity, sponsored by Contractors Depot, and a Tote Bag Design Competition, supported by Woodville-Tompkins High School.
At the conclusion of the event, NAWIC will announce their annual award winners who were nominated and voted on by their fellow chapter members for their outstanding achievements over the past year. The organization will also celebrate the induction of its new board members for 2023-2024, who were also presented to and voted on by the membership prior to the event.
Members and non-Members can purchase tickets on the chapter’s website located here: bit.ly/NAWICAwardsLuncheon. Tickets are on sale at $55 per person.
