Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) announced the appointment of industry veteran Kelvin Moore as the new general manager of Savannah Convention Center (SCC). Moore joins the Authority leadership team from ASM Global, a venue and event management company specializing in managing stadiums, convention centers, theaters, and unique venues, where he most recently served as regional vice president supervising ASM Global-managed facilities throughout North America and sat on its convention center division senior leadership team. He will officially assume his new role at SCC on January 29.
“Kelvin’s extensive experience and proven leadership in the events industry aligns perfectly with our commitment to hosting unforgettable events” said Mark Smith, chairman of the Savannah Georgia Convention Center Authority. “His tenure coincides with our ambitious plans for expansion and development providing even more dynamic event opportunities to our current and new customers. We are excited about the positive impact Kelvin will undoubtedly have on the growth and success of Savannah Convention Center.”
Moore will be taking over for Stephen Hall, SCC’s assistant general manager and director of finance who has served as interim general manager since Sept. 2023, following the retirement of Sherrie Spinks.
GWCCA also announced the appointment of current chief administrative officer Jennifer LeMaster as the new SCC contract administrator. In addition to her current responsibilities leading finance, marketing communications, sustainability and inclusion, business intelligence, and oversight of the Authority’s strategic plan, LeMaster will work with Moore to provide enterprise support for the SCC expansion, future hotel development, strategic planning, and personnel development among other future-forward endeavors.
“Jen has played a key role in each phase of business and campus development for the Authority, including the recently opened Signia by Hilton Atlanta, and will bring a wealth of expertise and passion to this role,” said Frank Poe, executive director of GWCCA. “Her collaboration with the Board and the SCC team will ensure our strategic partnership in Savannah remains solid well into the future.”
