TEDxSavannah, an independently organized celebration of ideas worth spreading based on the international TED Talk phenomenon, officially issued a call for speakers earlier for TEDxSavannah 2024, a highly anticipated event that will take place on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Fine Arts Auditorium at Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus, located at 11935 Abercorn St. in Savannah, Ga. Doors will open at noon.

The TEDxSavannah 2024 speaker application is currently live at tedxsavannah.com. The speaker application deadline is Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

TEDxSavannah will host a free Speaker Application Workshop on Thursday, January 11 at 5:30 p.m. on the Armstrong Campus of Georgia Southern University in Solms Hall, Room 110. Anyone who is interested in being a TEDxSavannah speaker is welcome to attend.

TEDxSavannah 2024 speakers are encouraged to focus on the theme of Convergence. Prospective speakers must submit an online application, review the speaker guidelines and be available for rehearsals as well as coaching sessions. In their application, prospective speakers will need to communicate how the 2024 theme will drive the content of their TEDxSavannah Talk and explain their connection to the greater Savannah region. Speakers cannot promote businesses or endorse products during their TEDx Talk.

“We warmly invite community members to share their own unique spin on the Convergence theme and to apply to speak at our 2024 event,” said TEDxSavannah organizing committee member Karla Jennings. “TEDxSavannah provides professional coaching, free of charge, for all speakers to ensure they are ready to take the stage and deliver polished, thought-provoking talks designed to make an impact on the community.”

Each TEDxSavannah speaker is limited to a maximum of 12 minutes to present an interesting talk influenced by the theme and of interest to the Savannah community. Live talks will be filmed and posted on the TEDx Talks YouTube channel, which has more than 39 million subscribers, following the event.

TEDxSavannah tickets are currently on sale, which include seating, onsite parking, snacks, coffee and admission to the speaker meet-and-greet immediately following the main TEDxSavannah event. Early bird, VIP and nonprofit/student/educator/first responder/active-duty military tickets are currently available for purchase online at tedxsavannah.com. Groups of more than six attendees can receive a 10% discount on the price of their tickets by contacting Allison Hersh at [email protected].
