The SCCPSS Human Resources division was recently recognized by the Georgia Association of School Personnel Administrators (GASPA) with a number of awards. The team was awarded a Gold Award of Excellence-Best in Class in the area of Retention Practices.  This award recognizes innovative practices (e.g. employee induction models, mentoring programs and recognition programs) implemented to retain highly effective employees. 

Our HR staff also earned the Silver Award of Excellence in the area of Strategic Partnerships recognizing innovative and strategic partnerships with colleges/universities or industry to promote the hiring of the best teachers, administrators and support staff; and the Silver Award of Excellence in the area of Recruitment.  The recognitions were bestowed on SCCPSS staff at GASPA’s spring conference last month on St. Simon’s Island.

GASPA’s Best in Class Awards recognize district excellence in the areas of employee handbooks, recruitment, retention, website development, employee benefits, and strategic practices. The Georgia Association of School Personnel Administrators (GASPA) was formed in 1966 as a professional organization for persons working in the field of human resources. GASPA provides up to date professional development and resources through two statewide conferences annually and through strong partnerships with state agencies and educational organizations.
