The Summer 2024 class of LAUNCH Savannah, the exciting new business accelerator program offered by the City of Savannah’s Economic Development Department in partnership with The Creative Coast and the Small Business Assistance Corporation, has completed its inaugural incubator program and is preparing for an exciting final event - Liftoff!

This intensive course of in-person classes for aspiring or newly-established entrepreneurs is intended to better equip participants for success in their business endeavors. 15 entrepreneurs were selected for participation out of over 100 applications. With start-ups ranging from lawn services to scent-based marketing, from workplace safety training to food delivery, the cohort represents a diverse selection of the talent and innovation that Savannah has to offer.

During the 12 weeks of classes, the entrepreneurs followed a lesson plan that led them step by step through the process of building a successful business model. They also heard from a variety of guest speakers each week, including many Savannah-area leaders and innovators who imparted knowledge from their experience in the business world.

This cohort of Founders met the challenge and have completed this with high distinction” says MarRonde Lumpkin-Lotson, Interim Senior Director of Economic Development for the City of Savannah. “It has been truly rewarding to see these business owners grow as entrepreneurs over the 12 weeks. I am excited to see their successes and know it was contributed to by this program!”

The graduating class will be celebrated in an upcoming ceremony on October 8th at 5:30PM. “LIFTOFF” will take place at the Ben Tucker Theater at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center, sponsored by the Savannah Economic Development Authority. The event will be hosted and streamed live by WSAV. Mayor Van Johnson will provide remarks at the special guest speaker, and each of the graduating entrepreneurs will present their business in a 90-second pitch.
