Komar, a global leader in the apparel industry, recently held a grand opening for its new, state-of-the-art distribution center in Ellabell, Ga.

Operated by Komar Distribution Services, the 760,000-square-foot, LEED-certified, climate-controlled facility expands the company’s U.S. logistical capabilities, underscores Komar’s commitment to sustainability and global collaboration and creates hundreds of local jobs.

“This new facility represents a significant milestone for Komar,” said Komar CEO Charlie Komar. “It enhances our ability to provide efficient, cost-effective logistics solutions, reinforces our commitment to environmental stewardship, and allows us to contribute positively to both local and global communities.”

Several government officials and community leaders attended the event including representatives from the Georgia Ports Authority and U.S. Representative Buddy Carter (R-GA).

As a leading Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider, Komar Distribution Services offers clients scalable logistics solutions, expert management, and advanced technology integration. Situated near the Port of Savannah and major transportation networks, the Ellabell facility reduces transit times and shipping costs, significantly improving supply chain efficiency.

“Our 3PL services enable businesses to optimize their supply chains by outsourcing logistics operations to a trusted partner,” Komar said. “With this new center, we offer customizable logistics solutions that allow our clients to focus on their core business objectives.”

The distribution center, which already has clients in the automotive, lumber and textile industries, will incorporate advanced technologies, including the planned T-Sort automation system, which increases sorting efficiency and accuracy. Sustainable design elements such as solar power installations and energy-efficient lighting minimize environmental impact while optimizing operations.

The new facility is set to create hundreds of jobs in the Ellabell area. Komar collaborated with local leaders, including Regional Industry Support Enterprise (RISE) and the Bryan County Development Authority to ensure the project aligns with the community’s economic development goals.

“We are thrilled to welcome Komar to our region,” said RISE CEO Anna Chafin. “Their investment underscores the attractiveness of our area for business growth and provides meaningful employment opportunities for our residents.”

Development Authority CEO Ryan Pervis said he expects the distribution center to have a lasting impact on local employment opportunities.

“We are excited to have Komar as a valued partner in Bryan County and our region,” Pervis said. “We look forward to supporting Komar’s team to make sure their employees are having success and creating even greater opportunities for our community.”

Komar Distribution Services demonstrated its commitment to its new home and community by partnering with local employment initiatives in hiring and making major donations to community service organizations.
