SBAC Hosts Annual Holiday Luncheon, Honoring Achievements and Award Recipients

The Small Business Assistance Corporation (SBAC) celebrated its Annual Holiday Award Luncheon on December 4, 2024, at the Savannah Golf Club. The event acknowledged the organization’s staff and volunteers’ contributions to the organization and honored businesses and community supporters through recognition of its annual award. This year marks 35 years of SBAC’s community impact, a milestone achievement for the non profit organization.
Highlighting SBAC’s year-end activity included funding 82 small business loans totaling over $13.5 Million with project sizes over $30.6 Million, with support from business and banking partners. The organization received over $2.8 Million in grant funding and provided several educational workshops to business owners throughout the year. SBAC also issued 28 business scholarships totaling nearly $28,000 to its clients reinforcing its commitment to economic growth and entrepreneurship.
SBAC’s 2024 award recipients included:
- T. McCoy Cornerstone Award – Sandra Collins, Executive Assistant, Curtis V. Cooper Primary Health Care
- Lender of the Year – Abby Goodwin, Vice President of Commercial Banking, Queensborough Bank and Trust Co.
- Micro Business of the Year – Be Smart Home Solutions
- Michael Bunn, Sr. Memorial Rising Star Award – The British Pie Company
- Tony O’Reilly SBAC Advocate of the Year – Marjorie Young, President and CEO, Carriage Trade Public Relations.
Reflecting on the event, SBAC’s President, Victoria Saxton shares, “Our Annual Luncheon is a celebration of the collective efforts that drive SBAC’s mission forward and a time to honor those who make a tangible difference in the small business community.”
