The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced recipients of their 2024/2025 Business Awards, celebrating businesses and leaders who drive innovation and create lasting impact within the community.
The Entrepreneurs of the Year award was presented to Jan and Todd Womble of Savannah Logistics Group, recognizing their transformative contributions to the logistics industry and regional economy.
“This award is typically given to an individual, but this year, it honors two visionaries who have not only built a thriving business but have also uplifted an entire industry,” said Bert Brantley, president and CEO of the Savannah Chamber. “Entrepreneurs have the unique ability to turn ideas into reality, creating businesses that grow and redefine industries. Jan and Todd Womble embody that spirit.”
Through Big Rig University, a training initiative launched by Savannah Logistics Group, the Wombles are empowering truck drivers to become independent business owners. The program equips drivers with the skills and knowledge to own and operate their own rigs, fostering financial independence and long-term success. With an expanded curriculum covering truck maintenance and fleet management, Big Rig University is ensuring its graduates remain competitive in the evolving logistics landscape.
“We are deeply grateful to be recognized as Entrepreneurs of the Year by the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce,” said Todd Womble, CEO Savannah Logistics Group. “This award is not just ours; it belongs to our incredible team, especially our drivers, who keep America moving every day. They are the true heroes of our operation.”
The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize Jan and Todd Womble for their entrepreneurial leadership and commitment to shaping the future of the logistics industry.
