Wednesday, March 19th, 2025

Officials of the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club announced today the details surrounding two of the tournament’s community initiatives benefitting Savannah-area youth during the 2025 event. First Tee Career Day and the Junior Clinic, both presented by Memorial Health Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah, will each be held on Monday, March 31, and provide a day of learning and fun for area youth to kick off tournament week.

The fourth annual First Tee Career Day presented by Memorial Health Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah will welcome members of First Tee – Savannah to the Landings Golf & Athletic Club, Deer Creek Course, for a look behind the scenes at a professional golf tournament and a chance to explore the many career opportunities available in the golf and club management industries.  Participants will experience a clubhouse tour and pastry-making session, a tournament gardening demonstration with hands-on floral installation and more.  Attendance for the First Tee Career Day is available by invitation only. “We are grateful to The Club Car Championship, Memorial Health, and The Dwaine and Cynthia Willett Children's Hospital of Savannah for providing this opportunity for our participants to not only get a behind the scenes look at a PGA TOUR sanctioned tournament, but to also get to see many of the opportunities for careers in the golf industry,” John Parker, CEO of First Tee – Savannah, said. “At First Tee-Savannah, we are building future leaders and this event gives our participants an opportunity to broaden their knowledge of careers centered around the golf industry. We are building a golf and life mentorship program and hope that the exposure to some of these newly learned careers will spark an interest and help us connect these kids to role models in these fields.  We are so excited about this continued partnership with The Club Car Championship and look forward to this event every year."

The seventh annual Junior Clinic presented by Memorial Health Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah will take place from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Deer Creek Course. Kids aged 17 under are welcome to attend this free event open to the public. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. “Memorial Health Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah is proud to support the Club Car Championship’s First Tee Career Day and Junior Clinic,” Brad Talbert, CEO of Memorial Health, said. “Physical exercise benefits children’s health and golf is a way to support that.”
