AT&T opened a new Connected Learning Center inside the West Broad Street YMCA in Savannah to provide internet access and high-quality educational tools to residents who encounter barriers to online participation. In addition, AT&T made a $50,000 contribution to the West Broad Street YMCA for programming support.

“At the West Broad Street YMCA, we’re committed to strengthening our community through programs that empower individuals and families to reach their full potential. AT&T opening a Connected Learning Center at the West Broad Street YMCA will help us continue that mission by bridging the digital divide and opening doors to new opportunities for Savannah residents,” said Tonia Williams, Director of Operations and Childcare Director, West Broad Street YMCA. “With access to high-speed internet, computers and digital skills training, more members of our community will be equipped for the jobs of today and of the future.”

“The West Broad Street YMCA has been a cornerstone of this community for generations, providing education, mentorship and resources that change lives. The addition of an AT&T Connected Learning Center expands that legacy by ensuring our residents have the digital tools and training they need to thrive in an increasingly connected world,” said Chairman Chester A. Ellis, Chatham County Board of Commissioners. “We appreciate AT&T’s continued investment in Chatham County and for creating bright, connected futures for our residents.”

“AT&T’s collaboration with the West Broad Street YMCA to open a Connected Learning Center is a powerful example of partners coming together to invest in the future of our community. This Connected Learning Center is a wonderful resource and a gateway to education, job readiness and economic empowerment,” said Mayor Van Johnson, II, City of Savannah. “By providing access to technology, resources and connectivity, we are helping close the digital divide and creating pathways to prosperity. We appreciate AT&T’s investment in Savannah and the work they do to ensure more Savannah residents have the connectivity they need to succeed.”

This Connected Learning Center is the first in Savannah and the eighth in Georgia. It offers free access to digital resources, including high-speed AT&T Fiber internet, Wi-Fi and Dell computers. It also provides educational resources such as The AchieverySM, a free digital learning platform by AT&T, and free digital literacy courses in partnership with the Public Library Association. Tutoring and mentoring will also be provided by AT&T employees and community leaders.

“At AT&T, we are committed to helping more Georgians connect to greater possibility and excited to celebrate the opening of our Connected Learning Center at the West Broad Street YMCA in Savannah. This collaboration is empowering learners of all ages, including our current and future workforce, with the digital resources needed to succeed,” said Riley Blount, President, AT&T Georgia. “We are proud to support the historic economic growth taking place under Governor Kemp’s leadership and appreciate his continued dedication to advancing opportunity across our state.”

This effort is part of AT&T’s initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption. AT&T is committing $5 billion to help 25 million people get and stay connected to high-speed internet by 2030.

AT&T opens these centers within local nonprofit organizations that are already adept at supporting underserved populations within their community, including some of our nation’s most vulnerable students and families. The company plans to open at least 100 CLCs by the end of 2027.

As part of their commitment to digital inclusion, Dell Technologies has donated Dell OptiPlex computers with integrated audio and webcams. World Wide Technology, a leading minority supplier of IT services, is handling configuration and installation.
