Elevate Savannah, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering local communities and fostering educational excellence in the Chatham County Public School System, is celebrating another year of a successful Leadership Awards Dinner raising over $200,000 at the event. The Elevate Savannah Leadership Awards Dinner took place on October 16th at Kehoe Iron Works at the Trustees’ Garden.
The Leadership Awards Dinner is a testament to Elevate Savannah’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating individuals who have elevated and positively impacted our community. This year's event honorees, Paul Pressly and Paul Meyer truly embody this spirit, having dedicated themselves to inspiring professional excellence and leadership through community service. As founding members of Elevate Savannah’s Board of Directors, their commitment and leadership has been instrumental in shaping Elevate’s success, making them deserving recipients of this year’s award.
This year’s event focused on the transformative power of generational mentoring, highlighting the importance of Elevate Savannah’s unique teacher-mentor program approach and the impact it has on the lives of students. Funds raised from this event will help support Elevate Savannah's dedicated education programs.
Through individualized mentorship, peer leadership, academic support, and career training, Elevate’s teacher-mentor’s empower students to thrive both academically and personally, creating a foundation of confidence and hope that carries into adulthood. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with current and former Elevate students, teacher-mentors, staff, and board members to hear firsthand the stories of growth, success, and resilience fostered through this mentorship program. By spotlighting the profound impact of mentorship on the lives of young people, Elevate Savannah inspired a stronger commitment to shaping the future of our community through support, guidance, and leadership.
“It was truly remarkable to see how our community came together in support of Elevate Savannah and is working so hard to invest in our students, ” said George Oelschig, Outgoing Chairman of the Board of Directors for Elevate Savannah. “Hearing from current and former students on the impact Elevate Savannah has had on their life was so special and we can’t thank those who attended and donated enough, because of them we can continue to make an impact.”
