In recognition of National Architecture Week, the Savannah Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) visited eight SCCPSS schools to introduce students to the exciting world of architecture through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Participating schools included Groves High School, Savannah High School, Isle of Hope Elementary, Hubert Middle School, the School of Humanities at Juliette Gordon Low, Windsor Forest Elementary, Georgetown K-8, and Garrison School for the Arts.

Is your student interested in architecture? SCCPSS is inviting students in grades 5–8 to help design the future of high school learning through the Middle School Architecture Studio.
✔ Hands-on design experience
✔ Student voice in real-world projects
✔ Four Saturday sessions (May 9, May 30, July 11, and July 25)
Participants will engage in interactive design activities, explore pathways in architecture and design, and collaborate in an environment that values student voice. The program also emphasizes the importance of balancing historic preservation with the needs of modern learners.
Designed for students who are curious, creative, and eager to share ideas, this opportunity is ideal for those interested in making a meaningful impact through design. The only requirements are a genuine interest in architecture or design and a commitment to attend all sessions.
