City to Host Open House, Update Findings on Future of Historic Railroad District
Tuesday, April 28th, 2026
The City of Savannah will host a Drop-In/Open House event on Monday, May 4, 2026, on the future of Savannah’s historic Railroad District.
This is a key location presenting a potential redevelopment opportunity to bridge connections between the Landmark Historic District, the Civic Center redevelopment site, and historic neighborhoods of West Savannah.
During the Open House, an information session will take place to engage the community on the future of the Railroad District, including City-owned Tricentennial Park and City-owned property along Louisville Road, west of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard (see attached map).
Additionally, the session will provide updated findings from the ongoing Economic & Land Use Study, outlining the latest approach to site planning, land use, and other considerations. It will also include a recap of valuable input from residents at the February 18, Open House. The City of Savannah has carefully considered such feedback, along with market and feasibility factors to shape a revised plan.
