Georgia Tech-Savannah Leadership Transition Underway Following Retirement

Georgia Tech has named Peter Rubow, Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives in the College of Lifetime Learning, as interim executive director of Georgia Tech-Savannah following the retirement of longtime campus leader Diane Lee. The Institute will begin a search for a permanent executive director in the coming months.
Lee will retire this summer after 18 years in leadership positions at Georgia Tech- Savannah -including most recently as executive director. During her tenure, she helped expand the campus’s role in professional education, workforce development, K-12 STEM outreach, applied research, and industry collaboration across Coastal Georgia.
“Diane Lee’s leadership has helped Georgia Tech-Savannah become an important part of our statewide mission and our engagement with Coastal Georgia,” said Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Raheem Beyah. “Through education, workforce development, research collaboration, and community partnerships, the Savannah campus has created lasting impact across the region. We are grateful for Diane’s many contributions and look forward to building on the strong foundation she and the campus team have established.”
Georgia Tech-Savannah serves as a hub for professional education, K-12 STEM outreach, applied research, and industry collaboration supporting students, educators, working professionals, and industry partners throughout Coastal Georgia. Georgia Tech remains committed to serving the education, workforce, and innovation needs of the region through the Savannah campus and its partnerships across Coastal Georgia.
As interim executive director, Rubow will work closely with campus leadership, faculty, staff, and community partners to continue advancing the supporting its programs and partnerships.
