Savannah State University’s (SSU) College of Business Administration will host Dr. David E. Altig, executive vice president and chief economic adviser for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, for the Second Annual Mid-Year Economic Outlook, one of the university's premier signature events connecting higher education, business and public policy.

The event will take place on Tuesday, July 14, at 2 p.m. in the Howard Jordan Torian Auditorium on the Savannah State University campus, located at 3219 College Street in Savannah. The program is free and open to students, faculty, staff, business professionals, community leaders, policymakers and the public.

Designed to provide timely, data-driven insights, the Mid-Year Economic Outlook examines national, regional and local economic trends shaping the months ahead. Attendees will gain valuable perspectives on topics such as inflation, interest rates, labor markets, consumer spending, business investment and the broader economic forces affecting Coastal Georgia and beyond.

As one of the region's leading economic forums, the event creates a unique opportunity for participants to hear directly from one of the nation's foremost economic experts, ask questions, and engage in meaningful discussions about the challenges and opportunities facing businesses, communities and government. The program also strengthens the connection between the Federal Reserve System and Coastal Georgia while supporting informed decision-making across the region.

Whether you are a business owner planning for the future, a policymaker navigating today's economic landscape, a student preparing to enter the workforce or a community member interested in understanding the economy, the Mid-Year Economic Outlook offers practical insights and valuable context to help make sense of today's rapidly changing economic environment.

Savannah State University is proud to continue this annual tradition of bringing nationally recognized thought leaders to campus and providing meaningful opportunities for learning, collaboration and community engagement. The event is open to the public and free to attend.
