Every election helps shape the future of Georgia’s economy, influencing decisions on infrastructure investment, workforce development, transportation funding, port growth, business regulation, legal reform and economic development.

For the thousands of businesses and workers connected to Georgia’s logistics, maritime, manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, warehousing and international trade industries, those decisions have real economic consequences.

That is why the Georgia Coastal Trade PAC (GCT-PAC) was created.

GCT-PAC is a non-partisan coalition working to ensure that businesses and industries responsible for creating jobs, moving commerce and strengthening Georgia’s economy have a meaningful voice in the public-policy process.

“Georgia’s trade economy is too important for the people who understand it best to sit on the sidelines,” said Matt Campbell, Board Chairman of the Georgia Coastal Trade PAC. “Our ports, highways, railroads, warehouses, manufacturers and supply chains help power Georgia’s economy every day. The people who work within those industries should have a seat at the table when decisions affecting their future are made.”

Participation Matters

Political campaigns and advocacy organizations invest significant resources every election cycle to influence the direction of public policy. But elections are ultimately decided by the people who participate.

While statewide races may attract significant attention, many legislative and local elections can be determined by comparatively small numbers of engaged voters. GCT-PAC believes informed participation by employers, employees, families, and communities can make a meaningful difference.

“The reality is simple: if our industry is not engaged, someone else will shape the conversation,” Campbell said. “Participation is about more than making a contribution. It means being informed, building relationships, sharing expertise and showing up.”

“A strong trade economy creates jobs, attracts investment, strengthens communities and creates opportunities for families across Georgia,” Campbell said. “Our goal is to support leaders who understand that connection and are willing to protect Georgia’s position as a national and global leader in commerce.”

Looking Ahead

As Georgia continues to grow and international commerce expands, the decisions made during the next several election cycles will help determine the future of transportation networks, workforce initiatives, legal reforms, economic development strategies and infrastructure investments across the state.

GCT-PAC believes that growth presents both an opportunity and a responsibility for Georgia’s trade community.

Businesses and individuals can participate by investing financially, contributing industry expertise, serving on the organization’s Board of Directors or Advisory Council, or staying informed and engaged on issues affecting Georgia’s trade economy.

“The strongest voice is not always the loudest,” Campbell said. “It is the one that consistently shows up. If we want Georgia to remain the best place in America to move goods, build businesses, create jobs and compete globally, our industry must be part of the conversation.”
