JCB Growth Continues with Largest Shipment to Savannah

In early 2015, JCB received what was then the company’s largest single vessel shipment of 341 construction and agricultural machines to the Georgia Ports Authority from its manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom. That record was broken recently when JCB’s UK facility shipped over 400 machines worth more than $35 million to the Georgia Ports Authority.

Gulfstream Announces New Product Support Distribution Center has Begun Core Operations

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced that its new Product Support Distribution Center has begun the core operations of shipping and receiving parts. The 405,868-square-foot environment-friendly facility consolidated several of the company’s material distribution departments near the main Gulfstream Savannah campus. The climate-controlled PSDC, which was announced in January 2014, is home to more than 300 employees. Gulfstream maintains a worldwide spares support inventory of more than $1.6 billion.

Choate Combines Love for Cars, Philanthropy to Help Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

In 1989, Millard Choate began his construction company as a basement start-up out of his home in north Atlanta. He said that was about the same time he learned that Leann, his daughter Emily’s best friend, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, a life threatening disorder that affects the lungs and digestive system. The girls were in preschool together at the time, and Choate said when he learned of Leann’s diagnosis he didn’t know anything about Cystic Fibrosis.
