The Coastal Bank, a locally owned and operated community bank headquartered in Savannah, Ga., recently promoted Mia Thompson to assistant branch manager at the bank’s Pooler office.

In her new position, Thompson will ensure the effectiveness of all branch banking operations, provide customer branch lending support, continue to establish and grow new customer relationships, identify banking products to help improve clients’ financial future and manage individual as well as business accounts.

Thompson has spent the last eight years serving in various leadership roles at The Coastal Bank, including head teller, personal banker and branch manager. Prior to joining The Coastal Bank, she worked for BB&T as a teller coordinator and assistant area operations manager where she received the BB&T Olympian Award in 2001.

Thompson attended Georgia Southern University where she studied finance. She is also an active member of Pooler’s Chamber of Commerce and resides in Rincon, Ga. with her husband and three children.
