Press release from the issuing company

Monday, January 27th, 2014

The Conference Board Leading Economic Index for Mexico declined 0.1 percent in November to 123.5 (2004 = 100), following a 0.1 percent decrease in October, and a 0.1 percent increase in September.

At the same time, The Conference Board Coincident Economic Index for Mexico, a measure of current economic activity, increased 0.2 percent in November to 122.1 (2004 = 100), following a 0.1 percent increase in October, and no change in September.

The LEI for Mexico declined slightly in November for the second consecutive month, and its six-month growth rate remains in negative territory. Meanwhile, the CEI for Mexico increased modestly in November, and its six-month growth rate has been fairly steady throughout the year. Taken together, continued negative growth in the LEI in recent months suggests that the rate of economic activity is unlikely to accelerate in early 2014.
