Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Coastal Empire is looking for corporate partners to sponsor its third annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraising campaign.
The Bowl For Kids’ Sake campaign runs from April 21 to May 17, 2014. During the campaign, Big Brothers Big Sisters ask local companies and the general public to form 4-person teams to help raise funds to support its operations. John Kendricks, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, states that his organization depends on the dollars raised from Bowl For Kids’ Sake to recruit and screen volunteers, create life-changing match relationships between Bigs and Littles, and provide ongoing support to children and families.
BBBS, as the oldest mentoring organization in the United States, improves the life of children and from personal experience, also the life of the mentor, states Dr. Eric Bull, CEO at Spines and Sports. Dr. Bull states, “If helping a child, who is at risk, to do better in school and avoid getting into drugs, then BBBS is a group who should earn your respect and support. Supporting BBBS is an investment in a child but it is also an investment in our community as every child who makes it through school and finds employment is less likely to commit crimes and become beholden to the government for financial assistance. The investment of time and money to mentor a child pales in comparison to the total expenses of incarceration. Imagine a scene where every child had a positive role model who promoted good values with the results of a happy, hard working, and educated child. How much better could Savannah be in that scene? I support BBBS because helping a local child is one of the most ethical things one person can do. “
