Friday, February 7th, 2014
A popular production will make its debut in Savannah this spring. “The Last Supper” will be presented by the Maritime Ministry Players – a talented group of performers who are affiliated with the non-profit organization, the Maritime Bethel at Savannah.
This 80 minutes of musical theatre is a musical interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s most challenging creation – the painting of ‘The Last Supper’ and is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. Music and Vocal Arrangements are by Gary William Friedman, Book and Lyrics by Thomas Mitz and the entire production is based on an original concept by Andy Krey, Chaplain of the Maritime Bethel at Savannah.
Andy Krey, Chaplain and Executive Director of the Maritime Bethel at Savannah comments, “We have had a great deal of success with this production in New York, rural Georgia and other parts of the USA and are delighted to be partnering with the Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church to bring this wonderful production to Savannah. We hope to involve talent in the Savannah area to join our cast and choir.”
All proceeds from the production (details below) are given to fund the work of charities including The Maritime Bethel of Savannah, Habitat for Humanity, The Wesley Community Centers and Mission on the Move.
