Communicorp, a subsidiary of Aflac and largest provider of marketing and digital solutions in the region, announced Monday that it has been designated as one of the top thirteen “2013 Best Workplaces in the Americas” by the Printing Industries of America. For the 13th year in a row, the company is being honored by PIA for its exemplary human resource practices and ongoing commitment to providing a rewarding workplace environment for its employees.

“Communicorp continues to demonstrate each year that it not only values its team members, but is also willing to provide the resources and programs that are needed to provide them with a fulfilling workplace,” said Michael Makin, President and CEO of Printing Industries of America. “Congratulations to Communicorp for winning this prestigious award and for continuing to value the many contributions of their employees.”

As part of the review process, a panel of highly respected human resource professionals with years of graphic arts industry experience, were used to evaluate the submissions. The panelists judged applicants on eight criteria, including management practices, work environment, training and development opportunities, health and wellness programs, workplace health and safety, financial security, work-life balance initiatives, and rewards and recognition opportunities.

Interestingly, some of the criteria that PIA used as part of its review process were also key factors in a recent employment study. According to the 2012 SHRM Employee Job Satisfaction and Engagement Study, some of the important aspects of employee satisfaction for a positive work environment include, financial security 52%, work-life balance 46% and employee recognition 50%.

“We are glad that we were able to live up to the criteria of such a notable industry award,” said Eric Seldon, Communicorp President and Aflac Senior Vice President of Business Services. “Our commitment to our team members continues to be, ‘Providing a great place to work.’ Our leadership team knows and understands the value of taking care of our employees.”
