Hospice Savannah Foundation Elects New Board Members & Officers

Amy Piersol, Senior Trust Advisor, South Carolina  Bank & Trust, was named Chair of the Hospice Savannah Foundation, Inc. Board of Trustees for 2014-2015 at the organization’s March 25 Annual Meeting. Community leader Fran Kaminsky was named Vice Chair, and R. Vincent Martin, III, Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor of Sterne, Agee & Leach, Inc. was named Secretary/Treasurer.

Newly elected to serve a three-year term on the Board is Blenda Wilson, PhD, former Colorado Commissioner of Higher Education; former Chancellor of California State University, Northridge and University of Michigan, Dearborn; former Senior Associate Dean of the Harvard University Graduate School of Education; and former CEO, Nellie Mae Foundation. Dr. Wilson has enjoyed a distinguished career in higher education and received honorary degrees from 27 colleges and universities throughout the United States. She has served as a Hospice Savannah volunteer since relocating to Savannah.

Other new Foundation Board members are Connie Darbyshire and Joseph Roberts, who both previously served on the Hospice Savannah, Inc. Board of Directors.
