WHO: Memorial Health and LifeLink of Georgia 

WHAT: Flag-raising ceremony to bring attention to need for organ donation

WHEN: 11 a.m., Friday, April 11

WHERE: William and Iffath Hoskins Center for Biomedical Research on the Memorial University Medical Center campus (corner of 66th Street and Ranger Street in Savannah) 

WHY: Currently, approximately 121,000 individuals in the United States are in need of an organ donation – including 4,300 in Georgia. Memorial Health and LifeLink of Georgia will be holding a flag-raising ceremony in concert with Donate Life America’s National Flags Across America celebration. Featuring Donate Life flags as symbols of unity and hope, hospitals like Memorial are hosting ceremonies to honor their donor families and recipients and raise the flags that passersby will see throughout the month of April.

Donate Life America is a not-for-profit alliance of national organizations and state teams across the United States committed to increasing organ, eye, and tissue donation. 

LifeLink of Georgia is an independent non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization within the LifeLink Foundation. LifeLink of Georgia is one of 58 federally designated organ recovery organizations throughout the country dedicated to serving patients in need of transplant therapy and donor families.
