The Savannah Philharmonic will host a live Art Auction event on Wednesday, April 16 at The Whitman House on Forsyth Park, located at 611 Whitaker St., beginning at 6 p.m. The showpiece of the evening will be a Limited edition, personally signed lithograph of a watercolor completed by His Royal Highness, Charles, The Prince of Wales. Tickets cost $30 per person and a $5 pre-registration bidding fee.
The lithograph is number 12 of 20 and depicts The Pastoral South Front of Highgrove House in full bloom. Highgrove House is the Prince of Wales’s country residence in The Cotswolds, a scenic and historic area in The South-West of England. This unique and highly collectable piece will ultimately benefit the arts and music community here in Savannah, as well as support The Prince of Wales Foundation in the United States.
“The Savannah Philharmonic is fortunate indeed to receive this exciting piece of artwork donated to us by His Royal Highness. This lithograph demonstrates the exceptional talents of Prince Charles as a watercolorist and that the subject matter chosen is that of his private country home makes it a splendid piece for our Royal Masterpiece auction. The recent exhibition at Windsor Castle, Royal Paintbox: Royal Artists Past and Present, included a number of watercolors by Prince Charles. We are proud to work in partnership with the Prince of Wales Foundation), an international branch of the Prince’s Charities which raise more than $100 million each year to support a large range of charities,” notes Mrs. Rhegan White-Clemm, event organizer.
