Savannah Sports Council Director Appointed to NASC Board of Directors

Ben Wilder, director of the Savannah Sports Council, a division of the Savannah Chamber of Commerce and Visit Savannah, has been selected as a new board member with the National Association of Sports Commissions. Wilder has been a member of the NASC for more than 10 years.

"Over the past few years, Ben has truly become a leading contributor to the sports event space, and this appointment by the NASC membership is the exclamation mark that validates his position in our industry," said Terry Hasseltine, CSEE, NASC chair and executive director of Maryland Sports. "Ben will be able to contribute to the NASC board of directors’ dialogue immediately as he has been extremely active on numerous NASC committees in recent years. He understands the mission and the direction the NASC is heading."

Wilder has been the director at the Savannah Sports Council for seven years and is a certified sports event executive, which is part of the continuing education effort through the NASC. He also currently serves as president of Georgia Sports, a statewide sports tourism effort.
