The latest venture of the New River Auto Mall, the New River Wellness Institute, is set to mark its grand opening with a gala celebration at its new facility located at 100 Okatie Center Blvd. Okatie, SC. The party, which will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on June 3, will provide an opportunity for folks in and around the Lowcountry to learn more about what the Wellness Institute has to offer, while enjoying great food and live music.

With its dedicated team of certified professionals, the New River Wellness Institute will provide both preventative and rehabilitation programs designed to help Lowcountry residents develop, put into action, and achieve healthy lifestyle goals. Taking a holistic approach to the health and wellness of both the mind and the body, the Institute is dedicated to helping individuals balance their emotional, physical, and nutritional needs.

It's no surprise, then, that the New River Wellness Institute's 8,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility includes a yoga studio and a fully equipped gym that will specialize in rehabilitative programs for the spine, shoulder, and knees. “We have a unique population here in the Lowcountry”, says Craig Weyer PT, DPT, M.Ed, ATC, COMT, Managing Partner of the Wellness Institute. “People are proactive about their health and want to live a healthier, more active lifestyle. To meet this expectation we need a different style of rehabilitation, the Wellness Institute offers this.”

Additionally, educational and support services such as health screening, weight control, and smoking cessation, will be offered free to the public. Other services include training and conditioning, massage therapy, rehabilitative services, pain management, sports performance, and community outreach.

The grand opening celebration will feature healthy food choices from SERG Restaurant Group, live music performed by local musician Christopher Paul, yoga classes, golf and tennis swing analysis, and blood pressure screenings conducted by the American Heart Association.
