Local animal care clinics, Savannah Animal Care and Tybee Animal Care, are demonstrating their commitment to the Humane Society for Greater Savannah with an exciting event this May.
On Saturday May 10th 2014 Savannah Animal Care will be hosting an open day at its downtown location at 510 West Bryan Street from 1:30-4pm to raise awareness and funds for the HSGS. Attendance is free of charge although people are requested to bring a donation in cash or kind (such as quality dog or cat food) to help the Humane Society who will be in attendance throughout the afternoon to give information about their organization and adoptable pets. Refreshments including heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided and a prize draw offering a range of great items will take place. Veterinarians will be on hand to give advice and guided tours of the facilities at the recently opened downtown Animal Care clinic.
Executive Director of the HSGS, Lynn Gensamer, says “The Humane Society appreciates the generous support provided by Savannah Animal Care and Tybee Animal Care clinics. All our adopters are counseled on the importance of quality lifelong veterinary care. We are gratified that Drs. Kari Jenkins and Melissa Thompson from these clinics, and owner Dr. Jerry Williams share this philosophy, and as Doggie Carnival title sponsors, are confirming their belief that by working together we can improve the health and lives of companion animals in Greater Savannah.”
Dr. Melissa Thompson says “We are proud of our association with the Humane Society for Greater Savannah and wanted to showcase our fantastic services alongside raising much needed funds for this wonderful organization”.
Dr. Kari Jenkins adds “Many people do not know about our downtown facility which offers 24-hour emergency care, surgery, routine and preventative healthcare, doggie day care and boarding for dogs, cats, birds, exotics, reptiles, pocket pets, and small ruminant animals.”
