GDOL to Help International Paper Recruit Workers in Savannah

The Georgia Department of Labor will help the International Paper Company recruit production workers next week for its facility in Savannah. The company manufactures paper and packaging products.      

The recruitment will be held Wednesday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the GDOL’s Savannah Career Center, 5520 White Bluff Rd.    

The company is recruiting general helpers to assist the plant’s machine operators. The helpers must have at least one year of manufacturing experience.

Due to federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED) is required.  

Salaries begin at $14.30 an hour.

The company will conduct a background check and a drug-screening test.   

Applicants must bring a résumé and be prepared to complete a company application and be interviewed. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for jobs.
