Ogeechee Riverkeeper Hosts Rivers Rock Kickoff Party on May 4th

The Ogeechee Riverkeeper, an organization dedicated to protecting, preserving and improving the water quality of the Ogeechee River basin, and Moon River Brewing Company are partnering to host the Rivers Rock Kickoff Party on Sunday, May 4at 3-6 p.m. at Moon River Brewing Company Beer Garden located at 21 W. Bay St. in Savannah. A donation of $10 is suggested and will benefit the Ogeechee Riverkeeper.

This family and pet-friendly event will feature music by Missionary Blues, a three piece juke joint style blues band, and include one complimentary glass of beer or wine and tasty hor d’oeuvres courtesy of event sponsor, Moon River Brewing Company.

“We are thrilled to kick-off our fun monthly fundraising series with the Rivers Rock Kickoff Party and our generous sponsor, Moon River Brewing Company” said Francis Allen, board chair of Ogeechee Riverkeeper. “We want to continue to raise awareness for our organization so that we can strengthen our efforts to protect the vital resources the Ogeechee River basin provides to our local communities.”

The Rivers Rock Kickoff Party is the first of a monthly series of fundraising events that will take place from May-October and benefit the Ogeechee Riverkeeper and its mission to protect some of the region’s most precious natural resources including the beautiful blackwater Ogeechee and Canoochee Rivers which flow freely through eastern Georgia, draining a 5,540 square-mile basin that encompasses wetlands, forests, farms, and scores of towns and cities, including Statesboro and Savannah.
