Former Medient CEO Asks Judge To Dissolve Medient
Tuesday, June 24th, 2014
The ousted CEO of Medient Studios in Savannah is suing the film company and asking a judge to dissolve it.
In a lawsuit filed Monday in Nevada's Second Judicial District Court, Manu Kumaran asks a Nevada judge to dissolve the corporation; appoint a receiver to settle the company’s affairs; and issue an injunction preventing Medient from conducting business. The suit accuses Medient’s current leadership of fraud and “gross mismanagement."
In the complaint, Kumaran says he invested $15 million in Medient in exchange for a controlling interest in the company, before he was forced out on June 9.
