The 10th Landings Women’s Golf Association (LWGA) “Golfing for a Cure” event raised $66,327.39 net for the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute (ACI) at Memorial University Medical Center.
The money raised will specifically support the LWGA Biospecimen Research Program, the Intraoperative Radiation Therapy System (IORT) and TrueBeam services, and the LWGA Summer Scholars Program.
The LWGA began its partnership with the ACI in 2004. Since then, it has raised more than $607,000 to benefit the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute. The money has helped to fund pioneering research, a summer scholars program for medical students, and cutting-edge equipment. Established in 1974, the LWGA with just under 500 members is the largest, club-based, amateur women’s golf organization.
