Sea Island Bank, a division of Synovus Bank, announces the appointment of Jerry Barton to its Savannah Advisory Board. 

“I am very excited Jerry has accepted a position on our Advisory Board and will continue to be an integral part of our team,” said Ken Rabitsch, Savannah City President of Sea Island Bank. “Jerry successfully launched Sea Island Bank in the Savannah market in 2004 and continued to lead and motivate our team until he retired in April 2014.  Jerry has been an important part of the banking landscape and business community for more than forty years, and we are happy that he will continue to share his wealth of knowledge with us.”

Barton began his banking career in 1969 and has spent his entire career in the Savannah market serving in various executive positions. He has served as a member of Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Council, Savannah Rotary West, Chairman of Armstrong Atlantic State University’s Educational Properties Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Armstrong Atlantic State University Foundation, Board of Directors of Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, and Union Mission.
