University of Phoenix Savannah Campus Hosts Entrepreneur Event

WHAT: According to a University of Phoenix School of Business Survey conducted online by Harris Poll in July 2014, half (50 percent) of working adults in the U.S. either currently own or want to own their own business. Of those working Americans who do not currently own their own business, nearly two-in-five (39 percent) hope to do so in the future.
University of Phoenix School of Business invites prospective and current entrepreneurs in the Savannah community to a special event to learn about resources essential for entrepreneurial success. At the event, University of Phoenix staff and faculty, along with local entrepreneurs, will share important information on the following topics:
- Panel Discussion – Attendees will gain insight into starting and establishing a new business by listening to a special panel discussion with local entrepreneurs who have successfully started their own businesses. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn and ask questions. Panelists and presenters include:
- Barry Crocker is the President of Cyntechs, a structured data and voice cabling business he started in 2006.
- Felix Figuereo is the founder of a Savannah based tech firm that specializes in website design and web application development.
- Shirley Smith is in the process of starting her own business and is working with Invent-Tech to develop plans and drawings for one of her ideas.
- Marjorie Young is the founder of Carriage Trade Public Relations, Inc. She started her business in 199 to help businesses increase their visibility in their community and globally online through reputation management strategies.
- Starting a business – Attendees will learn the differences between starting a new business, buying an established business or franchising a business, and determining which option is the best fit for his or her current situation.
