Savannah radio stations 98.7 The River and WTKS News Radio 97.7 FM and 1290 AM will present Savannah’s second annual Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Radiothon to benefit The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC). The radiothon will feature inspiring stories of hope and healing from local families. Listeners will have an opportunity to donate to The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. Featured hosts will be morning radio personalities Murphy, Sam, and Jodi, along with Bill Edwards and Mark Robertson.

The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Radiothon will air from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, August 21; 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, August 22; and 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, August 23.

Last year the radiothon raised $51,000. Because of this generous support from listeners, The Children’s Hospital was able to purchase:

•  Special neonatal scales to weigh the tiniest babies in the neonatal intensive care nursery at MUMC.

• New rocking chairs so moms and dads have a comfortable place to sit while holding their hospitalized child.

• 125 teaching dolls to educate children coming in for surgery about the procedure they’ll have done and what to expect.

The Children’s Hospital at MUMC is the only children’s hospital in southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina. It provides a full spectrum of healthcare services and programs, including a Level III neonatal intensive care nursery, pediatric intensive care units, a pediatric emergency room, a hematology/oncology program, outpatient services, and physical, occupational, speech-language therapies. Last year, The Children’s Hospital treated more than 65,000 children in our outpatient programs and admitted more than 3,700 children to The Children’s Hospital.
